Police allege 28-year-old Blayze Gonzales was stabbed six times in the ribs and arms after he spoke to another man’s girlfriend.
That other man, Matt Lewis, was later charged alongside alleged club members Joseph Dick, 28, and James Murphy, 35, over the attack on Gonzales, which is alleged to have occurred about 1am on August 28.
Murphy and Dick appeared in the Southport Magistrates Court this morning charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm but were denied bail.
Lewis has also been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and has been remanded in custody.
The court heard Lewis confronted Gonzales about talking to his girlfriend and the pair allegedly exchanged a series of punches before Lewis left.
Some time later, Lewis is alleged to have returned to the Tequila Court home with Murphy and Dick and stabbed Gonzales several times.
The court heard Dick, who suffers from a disability after a serious car accident, is not accused of stabbing anyone, but stood by while Gonzales was attacked in front of several other people.
Magistrate John Constanzo described Dick as an “enforcer”.
“It is wrong to stand by while someone is being stabbed,” he said.
Dick is also accused of driving Lewis from the scene back to a Robina property.
Meanwhile, Murphy, who suffered injuries to his hands during the incident, which required surgery, was also denied bail.
Both Murphy and Lewis were remanded in custody until September 12.
