The sight of a fleet of motorcycles parked outside a Greek Orthodox Churce is not usual, but this happened on Saturday at Sts Anargyri in Oakleigh, when more than 300 leather-clad bikies paid tribute to one of their own. The deceased was Anthoni Ligidakis, 43, who was killed when his motorcycle collided with a car at Moorabin.

His mates - most of them members of the Mongols Motorcycle Club, blended with members of the Greek community and relatives of the deceased, who all gathered to bid farewell. Somber and orderly, they came and left without fuss.

Some even got to write about their mate in a Herald Sun tribute page, which featured posts like this: "You will be sadly missed but never forgotten. You now ride with Chapter 13, the best of the best. May you ride with the sun on your patch, the wind in your face and the sound of sirens in the distance".
