OMCG convicted of habitual consorting offence in Queensland

A 21-year-old Upper Coomera man has today been convicted of habitually consorting in Queensland.

The man, allegedly a prospect for the Bandidos OMCG Gold Coast Chapter today appeared before the Southport Magistrates Court.  After being officially warned for consorting, it is alleged the man had continued to consort with five Bandidos members on numerous occasions between March 9, 2017 and July 7, 2018.

Detective Superintendent Roger Lowe of the Organised Crime Gangs Group reiterated the warning and gave notice to those who have been served official warning notices.

“We have been transparent and overt in our warnings.  The warnings identify those persons in criminal networks who an individual should not consort with.

“Persons who disregard the warning and habitually consort face being charged and a penalty of 300 penalty units or three years imprisonment, and the application of an organised crime control order,” Detective Superintendent Roger Lowe of State Crime Command’s Organised Crime Gangs Group said.

The man was fined $600 and a conviction recorded.
